Pre-Flight Check
- These instructions are intended specifically for solving the error: /usr/sbin/ifconfig: No such file or directory
- I’ll be working from a Liquid Web Self Managed CentOS 7 server, and I’ll be logged in as root.
Option #1: Use the Command ‘ip’
ip a
or
ip addr
Both display details on all network interfaces, just as ifconfig would.
Option #2: Install net-tools
As a matter of best practice we’ll update our packages:
yum -y update
Then let’s install ifconfig, which is apart of the package net-tools, and any other required packages:
yum -y install net-tools
